Purse stolen by thief who entered vehicle
A Birmingham resident had her purse stolen on Thursday, January 20, from her vehicle by a stranger who walked up her drive in the 900 block of Purdy Street and entered her vehicle, police said.
The victim told police the theft occurred about 12:36 a.m. when the man got into her vehicle, then ran down the drive after exiting the car. The victim described the man as wearing a dark hat, dark mask, zip-up sweatshirt and long pants.
The victim said her purse and several credit cards were stolen. She also had received alerts that there were attempts to use some of the cards at various locations that morning.
Birmingham police reported an investigation is ongoing.
