Purse stolen out of car at Birmingham gas station

A quick trip inside a gas station in the 3000 block of Woodward Avenue in Birmingham on Saturday, October 21, ended with a Birmingham resident’s purse being snatched from her car while she was away.

The 74-year-old told Birmingham police that she had parked by the air pump and went inside to get change so she could fill her tires. She reportedly left the car unlocked, and when she got back she realized her purse was missing.

The woman said her car key, credit cards and phone were all inside the purse.

Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
