Restaurant weeks 2021, with carryout options
Sixteen years ago, Restaurant Week in Birmingham was a new concept for Michigan, designed as an incentive to entice diners to visit the city's restaurants during a slow time of the year. This year, during a cataclysmic pandemic and closures to indoor dining, it's once again an opportunity for diners to support Birmingham restaurants, with a couple of added twists – you can earn $25 in Birmingham Bucks for every $50 you spend, and many have carryout and take home kits, as well.
Birmingham's Restaurant Weeks will take place Monday, January 25 through Sunday, February 7, with at least 20 of the city's establishments offering unique menu items prepared by specialty chefs, with loads of options in how diners can enjoy them. Birmingham restaurants are going above and beyond to provide a safe and comfortable dining experience, from curbside pickup, carryout, take home meal kits, heated outdoor dining, and when available, indoor dining.
In addition, as a thank you to those supporting the city's restaurants, the Birmingham Shopping District (BSD), which sponsors Restaurant Weeks, is offering diners the chance to earn $25 for each $50 they spend at one of the participating restaurants, with a maximum of $100 in Birmingham Bucks, which they can then redeem at a wide range of retailers and restaurants in the city.
Participating Restaurant Week establishments include Bella Piatti, Casa Pernoi, Elie's Mediterranean Grill, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Forest Grill, Hazel, Ravines & Downtown, Hyde Park Steakhouse, Luxe Bar and Grill, Market North End, Phoenicia, Planthropie, Rugby Grill, Salvatore Scallopini, Sidecar, Shift and Slice Pizza Kitchen, Social Kitchen and Bar, Stacked Deli, Streetside Seafood, Tallulah Wine Bar & Bistro, Townhouse and The French Lady.
“We have such a wonderful variety of restaurants in Birmingham, from the traditional steakhouse to those offering international cuisines in a range of price points – there truly is something for everyone. Many are offering unique options including four-course and family-style menus, DIY appetizer and meal kits perfect for creating a delicious and exciting experience at home, cocktails and wine to-go and more. On top of that, the Shopping District is excited to offer the popular Birmingham Bucks promotion as a great incentive to try something new” said Erika Bassett, public relations specialist for the BSD.
