Retail fraud suspect turns feisty on cops

Officers were dispatched around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, to the 100 block of South Old Woodward in downtown Birmingham, where a retail fraud was in progress.


Birmingham police reported a 32-year-old female suspect from New Baltimore was apprehended while attempting to flee the scene of the crime. The suspect gave the officers multiple false identities and repeatedly refused physically to cooperate.


She was arrested and charged with first degree retail theft/fraud and obstructing arrest.
