A Birmingham woman was robbed of over $6,300 after she unknowingly gave a scammer her debit card pin while they posed as a bank employee on the phone.

The woman reported to Birmingham police that she received the call on Tuesday, September 9, claiming that the bank noticed fraudulent activity on her account. Just under a week later she found 20 unauthorized transactions with her debit card made over the course of several days. By the time she noticed, only $5 was left in her account.
