An 81-year-old Birmingham man was arrested the night of Tuesday, October 14, after allegedly pulling a gun on a repossession agent in the process of repossessing his car at the 1000 block of E. 14 Mile Road.

According to the report from Birmingham police, the repossession agent confirmed that the repossession was valid with the financial agency before loading the car onto the tow lift. The senior claimed that the car was paid off but was unable to provide proof of payment throughout the interaction, police stated. During the interaction between the senior and repossession agent, the senior walked up to the agent’s truck holding a handgun, which officers secured when they arrived on scene later.

Birmingham police stated that the man continued to act hostile after they arrived, and he was placed under arrest for felonious assault and felony firearm.
