Senior residence worker’s wallet taken on job

During his shift on Friday, August 1, an employee of a senior residence in the 100 block of Elm Street in Birmingham had his wallet stolen from his backpack.


The man reported the theft to Birmingham police the following Monday, August 4, saying that $20 in cash and debit cards were taken with the wallet. He also stated that $220 was charged to his cards before he canceled them.


Birmingham police say an investigation is ongoing.


The name of local businesses are seldom provided by Birmingham police.
