Several items stolen from car at residence

While a man had his truck parked in the driveway of a home on the 1300 block of Puritan in Birmingham on Tuesday, June 10, someone broke in, stealing his wallet and a backpack with two laptops and an iPad.

The man, a contractor who had parked at the home, reported the theft to police around 5 p.m. after realizing something was amiss when he got notifications from his credit card companies that there were fraudulent charges on his account for over $1,800.

Birmingham police say an investigation is ongoing.
