A contract for sewer rehabilitation work through Birmingham’s 2026 sewer rehabilitation program was awarded during the Monday, June 22, meeting, moving the project forward through the consent agenda. The item was not pulled for separate discussion by any commissioner and was approved with the consent agenda in a 6-0 vote.
The information included in the meeting packet show the contract was awarded to New Haven-based Pamar Enterprises for $844,722.25, which was the lowest bidder of the four bids the city received. City engineer Melissa Coatta stated in the memorandum included in the packet that Pamar also most recently completed work for the city’s 2025 Sewer Rehabilitation Program.
Coatta explained that the 2026 program work includes cleaning, televising and as needed rehabilitation of City sewer lines. The rehabilitation may include root removal, grinding mineral deposits and protruding taps, spot-lining with epoxy liner and joint grouting. Coatta said the work will take place at various locations throughout the city.
