In the early afternoon of Monday, August 25, a clothing store on the 100 block of S. Old Woodward in Birmingham was allegedly hit by six thieves who stole merchandise.
An employee of the store that reported the theft said that four women came into the store asking about the bathroom but left when they were told there was no public restroom. They allegedly came back later, grabbed a bunch of merchandise and left the store without paying for it. The employee also reports that at the same time, a man came in with a duffel bag, grabbed merchandise, entered the fitting rooms and then left with the bag full of items.
On top of these five, a sixth woman had tried to return merchandise without a receipt and became aggressive when the employee wouldn’t accept the return. The woman reportedly left the store leaving the clothes behind. The police report, however, does not indicate if the woman was there at the same time as the other five individuals.
