Stolen car from Birmingham recovered in Detroit

:

An Apple AirTag came to a Birmingham resident’s rescue after his car was stolen from his driveway in the 500 block of Aspen overnight between Thursday, June 15, and Friday, June 16.

According to the victim, the Toyota Rav 4 was left unlocked with the keys in the cupholder. Fortunately for him, the key ring had an Apple AirTag attached which allowed for tracking the car to Detroit.

Birmingham police say the car was later recovered and the driver was arrested.
