Stolen construction equipment recovered

Bloomfield Township police are investigating the theft of more than $100,000 in construction equipment that was stolen and recovered in Detroit, including a skid steer taken on or before Thursday, October 6, from a property in the 5000 block of Franklin Road.

Police officers responded about 8:45 a.m. to the area where a construction company owner said a newer model Kubota skid steer was stolen from the property sometime overnight. The victim said the skid steer was parked at the rear of the property the previous day.

Bloomfield Township detectives were able to locate and recover the stolen skid steer at an undisclosed location in Detroit. Police also located stolen equipment from other jurisdictions. The total value of the stolen equipment is over $100,000.

Police ask anyone with information about the theft to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
