Stolen Troy vehicle used in Birmingham thefts

Birmingham police were able to apprehend a stolen vehicle out of Troy after reports of larcenies and auto thefts on Tuesday, July 12.


Birmingham Police reported officers were dispatched to the area of Lake Park and Pine streets on reports of possible larcenies from cars and auto thefts in progress around 8:15 a.m. A witness reported to officers seeing several subjects exit a vehicle and get into numerous other vehicles parked in the 600 block of Suffield Avenue.


Officers were able to confirm that the vehicle the suspects exited were reported stolen out of Troy, and officers turned the vehicle over to the Troy Police Department to be returned to its owner.


There is no update on the vehicles taken from Suffield, or the thefts from autos in the area Lake Park and Pine.
