Stolen van seen speeding through Birmingham

An investigation into a sprinter van stolen from a business on the 2400 block of Cole Street in Birmingham is underway after it was seen by Birmingham police speeding on Woodward Avenue.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, an officer used radar to determine the van was going over 20 mph over the speed limit on southbound Woodward Avenue and saw it run a red light at Woodward Avenue and Lincoln Street. The driver reportedly continued on into Royal Oak and Berkley before being stopped on Woodward, just south of Catalpa.

According to the police report, the driver fled on foot, but the report was unclear about whether the driver was apprehended.
