Stolen vehicle discovered in Pontiac

An SUV stolen overnight on Saturday, June 19, from a driveway in the 2000 block of Lancaster Road in Bloomfield Township, was found the following evening at an abandoned house in Pontiac, police said.

Bloomfield Township police said the victim contacted police about 11:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, June 20, to report his 2003 Toyota Sequoia was stolen from his driveway sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Saturday and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. The victim said the key was in his 2018 Ford pickup truck, which was parked next to the Toyota and ransacked.

A cellphone and GPS unit were stolen from the Ford pickup.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office located the stolen Toyota about 6:15 p.m. in the driveway of an abandoned house in Pontiac. The vehicle was towed to the Bloomfield Township Police Department and processed for evidence.

Police ask anyone with information about the theft to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
