Suspect arrested during theft from auto

Birmingham police officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Woodward Avenue on Tuesday, July 9 around 2 p.m. regarding a possible larceny from auto in progress, and later discovered the suspect had an outstanding warrant from Southfield.

After officers were given a photo of the suspect they then made contact with him. The suspect, a 32-year-old male from Wyandotte, was investigated and found to have an outstanding warrant in Southfield. Witnesses had confirmed the suspect had been acting suspiciously in and around parked cars, attempting to open doors.

The suspect was arrested for attempted larceny from auto as well as the outstanding warrant.

He was later transferred to the Southfield Police Department by Birmingham police.
