Suspect at Target store arrested and arraigned

Bloomfield Township police recently observed a theft in progress at the Target store at 2400 Telegraph Road and arrested the perpetrator.
At approximately 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, the Bloomfield Township Police Department responded to a retail fraud in progress. A female with three children ranging from infant to a six-year-old was seen inside the store removing tags from items. The female was observed going through the self-check-out where she scanned some but not all items.
The female was stopped by officers as she was leaving the store and identified as Destiny Alford, a 24-year-old female out of Waterford. Alford had $515 worth of merchandise including bras, clothing, phone chargers, headphones, backpacks, and a blanket. Alford was placed under arrest for retail fraud.
The case was presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office which reviewed the complaint and issued a one-count arrest warrant for retail fraud second degree.
Alford was arraigned at the 48th District Court in front of Magistrate Nelson-Klein and given a $10,000 10 percent bond.
