Birmingham police assisted with apprehending a suspect in a strong-arm robbery that took place in Royal Oak during the early morning hours of Sunday, May 3.

According to the police report, the Royal Oak Police Department notified Birmingham Police about two men driving north on Woodward who they believed to have been involved in the robbery involving a $10,000 jewelry chain. The Birmingham officers reported finding the car and pulling them over.

The two men inside the car reportedly told officers they were coming back from a restaurant where they were involved in an altercation of some sort, but Birmingham police stated, based on the circumstances, the driver was detained.
