Bloomfield Township police, working in conjunction with the Troy Police Department Special Investigations Unit, have arrested a suspect for a recent home invasion on Chisholm Trail in the township who was under investigation for a number of other home invasions.

On Wednesday, March 11, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Bloomfield Township Police Department responded to a home invasion in the 4300 block of Chisholm Trail in Bloomfield Township. The suspect, Theodore Goolsby, a 54-year-old-male from Grosse Pointe and target of on an ongoing investigation, broke into the home and stole multiple articles of jewelry from the main bedroom. The victim and homeowner returned to her residence and interrupted the home invasion causing, Goolsby to flee the area.

Members of the Troy Special Investigations Unit quickly located Goolsby in his vehicle driving south from the residence. Goolsby was stopped, arrested for home invasion, and was transported back to the Bloomfield Township Police Department. During a search of Goolsby and his vehicle the stolen jewelry was recovered.

Goolsby was identified as the suspect in a previous Bloomfield Township home invasion from December 19, 2025, during which he allegedly broke into a home in the 5100 block of Windingwood Drive and stole approximately $22,400 worth of jewelry from the main bedroom. Goolsby is suspected in several home invasions around Oakland County, according to the police report.

These two cases were sent to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office which issued two charges of home invasion for the March 11 incident and the December 19, 2025, case. Goolsby was arraigned at the 48th District Court and given a $1,000,000 cash bond. Goolsby was ordered to wear a steel tether if he were to make bond.

The investigation into Goolsby is ongoing and further cases will be presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office as evidence is collected, police said.

The Troy Special Investigations Unit is comprised of detectives from the Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, Royal Oak and Troy Police Departments.
