Suspicious pickup truck follows 10-year-old boys

Birmingham police were dispatched on Monday, July 21, at 2 p.m. to coordinate with Bloomfield Village officers in taking a report from a village resident regarding a suspicious vehicle that was following two young boys.

The resident reported that three men in a pickup truck motioned to her 10-year-old son and another 10-year-old boy from Bloomfield Hills as they rode scooters on Westwood near Raynale.

The boys reported that the suspicious vehicle followed them to their home in the village. Birmingham officers assisted in attempting to locate the vehicle in the area north of Maple and west of Chesterfield.

The vehicle was described as an older, extended-cab or quad-cab pickup truck, dark in color.

Police say an investigation will continue in an attempt to identify the vehicle and its occupants.
