Early in the morning of Monday, October 20, an SUV was stolen from the driveway of a Birmingham home on the 1800 block of Redding.

The SUV fled from Birmingham police officers near southbound Woodward and 14 Mile, but officers were able to identify the owners based on the registration.

The owners of the car reported that they last saw it parked in their driveway the night before and the car was likely unlocked with the keys inside. One of the owners reported that a purse with cash inside was also left in the car.

Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
