SUV with $9,000 of goods stolen in front of home

A gray SUV was found missing from the street in front of a Birmingham resident’s house around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, but was later found in Detroit by police.


According to the victim, who lives on the 400 block of Hanna Street, he parked his car on the street the night before and couldn’t remember if he had locked the doors or left keys in the car. He also told police that several of his belongings, totaling roughly $9,000, were left in the car.


Police were able to locate and recover the car from an address in Detroit, but the victim’s belongings were missing.


Birmingham police state an investigation is ongoing.
