Teen arrested for stealing vape from gas station

:

An 18-year-old male from Bloomfield Township was arrested in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 4, after allegedly stealing a nicotine vape product from a gas station convenience store on the 30000 block of Woodward Avenue in Birmingham.

The gas station employee who reported the theft told Birmingham police that the 18-year-old came into the store, grabbed several items and tried to buy a vape at the counter. When the employee told the suspect he couldn’t buy it without ID, he grabbed the vape product from the counter and ran.

Birmingham police officers said they were able to find him and arrest him shortly after the incident, citing him for retail fraud.
