Teens swipe $1,600 worth of goods from store

An unidentified clothing store in the 100 block of South Old Woodward of downtown Birmingham had $1,600 worth of merchandise stolen on Saturday, August 17.

Officers were dispatched around 2 p.m. to investigate a report of two juvenile males who were attempting to take clothes into a fitting room along with a backpack. They were told not to and complied but shortly after, the suspects grabbed nearly $1,600 worth of merchandise and ran out of the store.

Witnesses reported that the suspects got into a black sedan.

Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
