Thefts from cars on Washington Blvd. reported

Two cases of overnight theft from vehicles on Washington Boulevard in Birmingham were reported last week.

Police reports indicate that on Thursday, August 1, gift cards valued at over $900, a driver’s license and credit cards were taken from a vehicle in the 1600 block of Washington. The victim contacted the credit card company once unauthorized charges of $300 were discovered.

The second incident took place on Friday, August 2, in the 1500 block of Washington where two unlocked vehicles were parked on the street overnight. The victim reported that a bag containing $500 in tools was missing.

Both incidents are under investigation.
