Thief hits customer in head with liquor bottle

A Highland Park man was accused of hitting another man over the head with a liquor bottle the morning of Saturday, August 22, at a grocery store on the 600 block of E. Maple, after the victim tried stopping him from allegedly stealing the liquor. 


According to the Birmingham police report, the victim confronted the suspect, who was trying to steal two liquor bottles, and witnesses confirmed the man then hit the other over the head.


Police said they are investigating the incident.
