Three persons hired to help stage a house in Bloomfield Township for an estate sale have been arrested for stealing items from the home.

Police report that on Friday, October 23, at 2:01 p.m., the Bloomfield Township Police Department responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Dell Rose Drive in reference to a larceny complaint. The home was in the process of being staged for an upcoming estate sale and the reporting party had contracted a cleaning service found on Facebook Marketplace to clean inside.

When the reporting party arrived at the home, they discovered the cleaning crew had stolen items and saw the items inside of the suspects’ vehicle. The cleaning crew was still on scene and the suspects were identified as Shawna Stewart, Derek Rohner and Niakna Russo, all from Flint.

Stolen property from the home was located in the suspects’ vehicle and included propane tanks, a Blu-Ray player, alcohol, and toiletries. During officers’ investigation, Rohner admitted to stealing alcohol from the home.

During a search of the vehicle, narcotics were located in a bag belonging to Stewart. Paraphernalia was located in a bag belonging to Russo who also admitted to having narcotics and paraphernalia on her person.

Officers placed all three suspects under arrest and transported them to the Bloomfield Township Police Department. While in the jail facility, it was discovered Stewart had concealed further paraphernalia on her person. In total, five grams of suspected methamphetamine and two grams of suspected fentanyl were recovered from the suspects.

The case was presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office which authorized charges of possession of methamphetamine, a 10-year felony, and receiving and concealing stolen property, a 93-day misdemeanor, for Stewart. A charge of larceny in a building, a four-year felony, was authorized for Rohner. And a charge of possession of controlled substances, a four-year felony, was authorized for Russo.

All three were arraigned in the 52-1 District Court. Stewart was issued a $5,000 personal recognizance bond. Rohner was issued a $7,500/10 percent bond. Russo was issued a $5,000 personal recognizance bond.
