A retail fraud suspect was arrested by Bloomfield Township police on Thursday, March 26, at TJ Maxx, 2139 S. Telegraph Road.

Township police were called to the store around 5 p.m. after store loss prevention personnel had detained the suspect.

The suspect, identified as JeremyBarber, a 34-year-old Black male from Detroit, had been stopped by loss prevention officers as he attempted to leave the store without paying for two JBL headphones totaling approximately $50.

Barber had a prior conviction for retail fraud and was subsequently arrested for retail fraud 2nd degree, police said.

Barber was transported back to the Bloomfield Township Police Department where he was

processed. On March 27 the Oakland County Prosecutors Office approved a one count retail

fraud 2nd warrant. Barber was arraigned in front of 48th District Court Magistrate Nelson-Klein who issued a $50,000 cash bond.
