Township police seek hit and run Jeep driver

A pedestrian was hit and injured by a hit and run driver along southbound Eastways Road, south of E. Square Lake Road in Bloomfield Township, on Tuesday, January 30, around 6:30 p.m., and police are searching for the driver.


Bloomfield Township police said they believe the suspect vehicle is a white 2021-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee with damage to its passenger side mirror. They reported that the Jeep collided with a 77-year-old male Bloomfield Township resident who was near the roadway while he was getting his mail.


According to police, the suspect vehicle left the scene without stopping. The pedestrian with bodily injuries was transported to Trinity Health Oakland Hospital by Bloomfield Township Fire Department personnel.


The crash is under investigation by the Bloomfield Township Police Department.
Persons who may have witnessed the crash are urged to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755 and ask to speak with a member of the department’s Traffic Investigation Unit.
