Township resident's PayPal account hacked
A Bloomfield Township resident is out more than $40,000 after having their PayPal account hacked sometime on or about Tuesday, February 7, police said.
Bloomfield Township police said the victim discovered someone accessed his PayPal account and transferred about $10,000 out of the account. An additional $32,775 worth of cryptocurrency was also moved out of the account.
Police said it is believed someone was able to clone the victim’s cell phone and gain access to the account.
The case is under investigation.
