Township senior center holds blood drive April 12

The Bloomfield Township Senior Center will host a Spring Blood Drive on Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in community rooms A and B.

The blood drive is sponsored by the Bloomfield Hills Rotary Club.

Bloomfield Township Senior Center Director Christine Tvaroha stated, “We are happy to host this important community event and welcome people 17 and over.” She noted that according to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood, but only about three percent of age-eligible people donate blood yearly.

Besides the Spring Blood Drive, the senior center will reward those who make blood donations between April 8-28 with a $10 gift card via email for a merchant of their choice.

An appointment for the blood drive can be schedule in advance by visiting Red Cross Blood and entering sponsor code BHRotary, or call 1.800.REDCROSS.
