Traffic stop leads to arrest for assault warrants

A traffic stop in Birmingham for an illegal turn led to the arrest of a woman from Detroit on Saturday, October 7, after it was found out the woman had outstanding warrants.

A Birmingham police officer on patrol reportedly watched a car make an illegal turn on Woodward Avenue and Oakland Avenue, and stopped the car. As the officer conducted the traffic stop, he discovered Sterling Heights police had outstanding warrants on the driver for assault and battery.

The driver was arrested and turned over to Sterling Heights Police, according to Birmingham police.
