Traffic stop leads to arrest of Pontiac man

After being caught speeding and swerving between lanes, a 72-year-old man from Pontiac ended up being arrested on Tuesday, April 16, following a traffic stop on Manor Road in Birmingham.


A Birmingham police officer who was patrolling northbound Woodward Avenue reported he saw the driver speeding and swerving and pulled him over north of Manor Road. The officer discovered that the driver had an outstanding warrant out for aggravated assault.


Oakland County officials requested that Birmingham officer place the driver under arrest on the outstanding warrant.


BPD said he was also given a citation for speeding and an expired license plate.
