Tree trimming on Linden Street next week

Linden Street between W. Maple Road and Hawthorne Street will have deadwood trimmed from large elm trees in the city of Birmingham's right-of-way beginning Monday, February 26, through Friday, March 1, weather permitting.

The city of Birmingham's forestry contractor, J.H. Hart Urban Forestry, will be handling the tree trimming work in the city's right-of-way. The work will take place each day 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The road will be open to local traffic, with the possibility of periodic full road closures as work dictates.

The road will be fully open to emergency vehicles and normal traffic outside of the established working hours.

Whenever possible, the city advises drivers and residents to seek an alternate route through the area using Aspen, Hawthorne or Shirley. A J.H. Hart representative will be on site to help direct local traffic within the work zone.
