Bloomfield Township police were dispatched on Tuesday, April 7, to the Kroger, located at 3600 W. Maple Road, for a retail fraud that just occurred and eventually found and arrested two suspects.
Two Black males concealed multiple bottles of alcohol in their coats and left the store, according to police. Officers arrived in the area and quickly located one of the suspects, Nathan James Fulton, a 34-year-old male from Detroit, running from the store and hiding in a nearby port-a-potty. Officers were able to contain him in the port-a-potty and call him out. As officers continued to scour the area, they located the second suspect, Steven Marcel Goodwin, a 38-year-old male from Detroit, walking south of the Kroger plaza.
Officers recovered three bottles of Cenzo Anejo Tequila, two bottles of Cenzo Respesado Tequila, three bottles of Woodford Reserve Bourbon, and one bottle of Crown Royal Vanilla from their persons and inside the port-a-potty.
Both suspects were placed under arrest for retail fraud and transported back to the Bloomfield Township Police Department. The case was forwarded to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office and were later arraigned in the 48th District Court.
