Two fake checks totaling thousands cashed

Friday, February 2, was a bad day for one Birmingham resident after two forged checks totaling $13,000 were written on the resident's bank account and cashed.

Birmingham police report that the resident, living in the 100 block of Elm Street, had four checks totaling $13,000, forged on their bank account, but two were able to be reversed.

Police said an investigation is ongoing.
