Two men break into car, take off

Birmingham police were called to the 500 block of Townsend Street on Friday, July 21, after someone saw two men breaking a passenger side window of a vehicle parked nearby and then taking off.

Around 6 p.m., officers were called regarding a property damage report. The caller said they saw two males break the passenger side window of a vehicle parked nearby, and then run to a nearby sedan and flee the scene.

According to the witness, one male was wearing a black covered face mask, while the other was wearing a dark backwards hat with a white logo.

At the time of the incident, there was nothing of value in the damaged vehicle.

The vehicle's owner, a 36-year-old Birmingham resident, was out of town at the time of the vandalism.

Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
