Two teens arrested for clothing theft at store

Birmingham police were dispatched to a clothing store in the 100 block of S. Old Woodward on Wednesday, July 31, at 2:30 p.m. where a merchandise theft had just taken place and officers eventually arrested two teenagers.

The store manager reported that two 14-year-old males set off anti-theft sensors as they left the store. Officers found the teens, who admitted they were wearing stolen clothing underneath their clothes.

Officers arrested the suspects and charged them with second-degree retail theft. The stolen clothing, valued at more than $370, was returned to the store.
