Unchained bike stolen during employee’s shift

A 19-year-old employee of a business on the 2000 block of E. Maple Road in Birmingham had his bike stolen on Sunday, May 5, while he was working during the day.

The victim, from Ferndale, said he had parked the bike outside of the business and left it unchained during his shift. Birmingham police said witnesses saw a man earlier in the day walking up to the bike and taking it.

Birmingham police are investigating the incident.
