Valuable package stolen with fake ID

A $31,000 package containing silver and gold from online retailer Apmex was stolen from a Birmingham resident on Friday, May 29, by a person who presented ID to the delivery driver and signed for the package.
According to the residents, one of them stayed at home to receive the package since it required a signature but left for a short period. The delivery made it to the house during the period he was away and an unknown man reportedly signed and presented ID, walking away with the package.
Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
