Vehicle stolen from Pleasant home during night

A vehicle parked in a resident's driveway in the 1000 block of Pleasant Avenue in Birmingham was stolen during the night of Wednesday, June 8.

A 50-year-old male resident reported to Birmingham police that his vehicle had been stolen from his driveway, and that the keys were inside the unlocked vehicle at the time it was stolen. A witness told officers that at 3:24 a.m., a vehicle pulled up to the victim's driveway and a suspect, described as a white man wearing black gloves and a mask, got out of the vehicle and headed in the direction of the victim's vehicle.

Moment's later, the victim's vehicle was seen backing down the driveway before exiting onto southbound Pleasant Avenue.

The resident said there was a vacuum, drill and other tools in the vehicle.

Police said this incident is believed to be related to several other vehicle thefts in the area.

Birmingham police are investigating.
