Victim assaulted New Year's Eve at The Morrie

On Saturday, December 31, Birmingham police officers were dispatched to The Morrie restaurant at 260 North Old Woodward Avenue on report of an assault.

A witness and one victim told officers that the suspect, described as a white male with blond hair in khaki pants and a button-up shirt, assaulted the victim multiple times while they were both in the restaurant.

After the altercation, the suspect was escorted out of the restaurant by staff. When officers checked the area, the suspect was not found.

Birmingham police stated the victim had sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment.

Birmingham police are continuing to investigate.
