Wallet stolen from unlocked Birmingham vehicle

Birmingham police are investigating a theft incident witnessed by a person in the 600 block of Humphrey on the morning of Friday, January 21.

Police said a 41-year-old woman came into the police station that morning and reported her wallet had been stolen from her unlocked vehicle sometime overnight.

Police said a witness told officers that a White man was seen opening the door to the vehicle around 5:06 a.m. The witness said the man was wearing a brown jacket, brown pants and brown boots, as well as gloves and a hat. The man walked up the drive, opened the door to the vehicle and looked around inside before closing the door and leaving the area. The man was described as standing about 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds.

An investigation is ongoing by Birmingham police.
