A 62-year-old Troy woman reported on Thursday, July 3, that her wallet had been stolen from her purse while she assisted a woman at a grocery store in the 2100 block of East Maple Road.

The victim said the woman asked for help reading price tags in the produce section at around 10 a.m. that day. The wallet taken during this time contained $450 cash, identification and multiple credit/debit cards, which were quickly used to make more than $4,700 in fraudulent charges.

An investigation is ongoing.
