:

Birmingham police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Quarton and Woodward Avenue on Thursday, January 16, at 11:30 p.m. for a welfare check on two people panhandling outdoors in extremely cold and snowy weather.

Police discovered Ferndale police had a felony warrant for one of the two, a 59-year-old Pontiac woman, for various drug charges.

At the request of the Ferndale Police Department, Birmingham officers arrested the suspect and transferred her to Ferndale police custody.
