Woman arrested for throwing chair at police station

A woman from Troy was arrested by Birmingham police on Monday, August 14, after hitting the plexiglass barrier with a chair in the front lobby of the police station on Martin Street.

According to police, the woman seemed to be intoxicated and refused to answer their questions when they arrived. Officers said the plexiglass and the chair showed damage consistent with being struck by an object.

The woman was arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property.
