Woman caught trying to cash fake check

A Pontiac woman was arrested in Birmingham the morning of Monday, September 21, after trying to cash a fraudulent check at a credit union in the 2000 block of W. Maple.

Birmingham police officers reported that the woman said she received the check from someone she works for. They said they later found out the woman had eight different credit cards on her that did not belong to her.

According to the police report, officers placed her under arrest for uttering and publishing.
