Woman caught using stolen ID and credit cards

A woman using the drive-thru of a Birmingham bank located on the 2400 block of W. Maple Road was nearly caught on Monday, April 15, after the bank teller noticed she was trying to use a stranger’s ID to take money out of a flagged account.

The bank teller helping the woman around 9:30 a.m. told Birmingham police that she noticed the driver was using an ID that didn’t belong to her and the account she was trying to access had been flagged. The teller reportedly called the account holder who explained her ID, debit card and purse had all been stolen back in December.

The driver quickly left after the teller found out the ID wasn’t hers.

Birmingham police report they are investigating the incident.
