Woman punched by stranger at local restaurant

When she turned around after hearing a commotion behind her, a woman from West Bloomfield was allegedly punched in the face by a stranger at a Birmingham restaurant on Friday, May 3, around 1:30 a.m.

The victim, reportedly with facial injuries, went to the Birmingham police later that morning to report the incident, bringing along a witness who backed up her story. Birmingham police’s report does not identify the address of the restaurant where the woman said she was assaulted.

According to police, the victim identified the attacker, whose identity was confirmed by a restaurant employee who said they saw the assault take place. The attacker is allegedly a 32-year-old woman from Birmingham.

Birmingham police report they are investigating the incident.
