Woman’s wallet stolen after getting help at store

While shopping at Birmingham Whole Foods Market, located at 2100 E Maple Road, on Sunday, December 1, a 79-year-old woman from Troy had her wallet stolen.

Reporting the incident to Birmingham police, the victim said that while she was shopping, an unknown man came up to her and asked if she needed assistance. The man helped her but continued to ‘suspiciously’ follow her around the store.

No additional information was given in the public report, but Birmingham police say an investigation is ongoing.
